Light Artist, Fawn Rogers

Known for her groundbreaking work using light, color and water, Fawn Rogers, has found much success in both the art and fashion worlds. Her innovative approach to natural light color is portrayed in her Visible Light installation, which captures light free from color enhancement or manipulation. After living in Oregon throughout her childhood, she spent her adolescent years traveling to Europe, Asia, and West Africa. In 1995, she was represented by Gottfried Tollman, which increased the exposure of her art in Los Angeles, New York, and Europe. While still working as an artist, she began to get recognized within the fashion world and ultimately became the design director for Adriano Goldschmied. “If it has wheels, I can crash it.” Need we say more about artist Thomas Scherer? Currently living in Long Beach, this artist spends his time working his craft of carpentry and specializing in hand made cutting boards with his company called, Bearded Dutchman. Creating his art is a process that includes using reclaimed kitchen doors as canvases and finding inspiration in your typical “dirty magazine”… we did say he was daring and bold! Paige Smith Brings 3-D Geodes to the Project Ethos Art Gallery

Ever found yourself walking around the city and coming across small mineral like sculptures growing out of buildings and pipes? If so you have been a witness to the street art created by artist and geode grower herself, Paige Smith. Born and raised in Texas, the now LA based graphic designer has founded A Common Name Studio and works as a freelance artist. In 2011 she started what is now her biggest project to date, Urban Geode. Paige forms these polyhydric shapes out of paper or resin and carefully places these hidden treasures in the nooks and crannies of the city. Alex was born in Los Angeles before moving to San Francisco where he attended and graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute where he received a BFA in Painting and drawing in 2013. Mosco Rosco Hits the Art Gallery Stage

Most people probably haven’t heard of Mosco Rosco. Yet. That’s because up until the beginning of this month, they were formerly known as the band Harper Blynn who produced two full length albums in 2010 and 2012, performed sold-out shows at the Bowery Room, and toured with Ingrid Michaelson, Greg Laswell, and Sarah Barielles, who was quotes as saying, the band “blows her mind.” The band also performed on Sarah Barielles’ 2013 fourth album The Blessed Unrest, which was nominated last year for the 2013 Album of the Year Grammy Award. Mosco Rosco’s sound is an fresh take on indie rock fused with notes of pop. Under their new label, the band is expected to release a single with Reggie Watts this month and will perform several shows in LA including gracing our very own art gallery stage presented by Midori. Don’t miss it!

Illustrator Ashley Mistriel

LA based artist Ashley Mistriel will be featuring her illustrations at our March 18th LA Fashion Week event. A common theme seen throughout her illustrations is the importance of family as a unit. Her abilities to capture the faces of families and translate them onto paper is unique and abstract. Ashley received her BA in Illustration from California State University, Northridge in 2009 and was also accepted into the CSU Summer Arts Residency in Florence, Italy in 2008. She is currently pursuing her MA in Painting and Illustration. She has received multiple awards including being featured in American Illustration 32. Henna Artist, Neha Assar

Mehndi artist, Neha Aasar will add to the uniqueness of the gallery by presenting a live, full body henna-tattooing exhibit. Neha’s skills go beyond just Mehndi, as she is also a hair and makeup artist. She aims to make her clients look and feel fabulous through her various works of art. Neha has been creating beautiful and intricate Mehndi designs for over 18 years now.
