Ever found yourself walking around the city and coming across small mineral like sculptures growing out of buildings and pipes? If so you have been a witness to the street art created by artist and geode grower herself, Paige Smith. Born and raised in Texas, the now LA based graphic designer has founded A Common Name Studio and works as a freelance artist. In 2011 she started what is now her biggest project to date, Urban Geode. Paige forms these polyhydric shapes out of paper or resin and carefully places these hidden treasures in the nooks and crannies of the city. Currently her Geodes are found in locations through Los Angeles, Madrid, Bali, and Mexico. To see more of her Geode installations visit A Common Name.
