NY Fashion Week - Post Press Release

Project Ethos Brings its Signature Edge to New York Fashion Week
LA based Event Makes its Mark With an Array of Runway Style, Live Performance and Art

NEW YORK, NY (September 10th, 2014) – Project Ethos, powered by French Tuesdays welcomed over 500 guests at the New York Fashion Week debut Tuesday night, September 9th, 2014 at Marquee New York. Sponsors included Canard Duchêne, Avita Premium Artesian Water and Java Monster. Television personality Sharon Carpenter hosted the evening, which celebrated rising talents in fashion, music and art from New York and across the U.S.

An industry meet and greet at 7pm hosted by Gardein featured an array of vegan, plant-based appetizers.

The 8:30pm fashion show opened with New York natives SACHIKA presented by Avita Premium Artesian Water and their new collection “Enchanted” followed by Liberty Garden whose mission of “buy one piece, save one life” supports Doctors without Borders and brings Malaria treatments to those in need. Italian brand M.Bottiglieri brought structured and sophisticated pieces to the runway followed by season 11 Project Runway alum Richard Hallmarq featuring his signature, all black collection.

Phoenix Entertainment presented a surprise aerialist performance between the fashion show sets that stunned the audience. The 9:30pm fashion show had Los Angeles based, The Ashley Michaelsen Collection “Toxic Romance” followed by loungewear and underwear line, Wood Underwear. Aleena Khan made her NYFW premiere with jewel tones and hand embroidering before season 7 Project Runway alum Jesus & Antonio Estrada closed with a couture show.

Hair styling was provided by Tomoko Shima Hair Salon and Eiji Morita Kiyora Salon and make up artistry provided by Yuriko Saijo for Eiji Kiyora Salon. A musical performance will take place at 9pm. Past music performances at Project Ethos include Grammy Award winning Bruno Mars, Colbie Caillat, and One Republic before they rose to stardom.

DJ Alex Ortega kicked off the after party along with live art by Tripp Derrick Barnes of Pop Neoism and Royce Bannon and a digital art display by Joshua Kogan Photography. Vendors included Shop Ethos, Jimmie Joy Jewels and a charging station by Speck featuring Candywirez.

Notable attendees included Smush Parker of the LA Lakers, R&B group Allure, Joe Simpson, buyers from Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman and more.

NY Fashion Week - Vendors

New York Fashion Week is all about checking out the latest fashion trends but here at Project Ethos powered by French Tuesdays and sponsored by Canard Duchene and Java Monster, we let you get hands on with them! On September 9th at Marquee New York attendees will be able to shop, taste and energize while watching the best in emerging fashion hit the runway.

Jimmie Joy Jewels brings handmade statement accessories to Project Ethos for both buyers and consumers to enjoy. Their new Pacific Opal Collection uses soft hues of blues and sea greens, reminiscent of the ocean.

Gardein, makers of plant-based vegan and vegetarian foods, will be hosting tasty appetizers for the industry Meet and Greet.

Java Monster returns with a sampling and flip book station where fashionistas can pose and get an interactive take home book!

Speck and Candywirez have teamed up to make a one of a kind charging station so you can keep snapping pics all night long without worrying that your battery will drain. Shop Ethos, the singular platform to shop emerging brands will also be present.

NY Fashion Week - Artists

Project Ethos New York Fashion Week brings together fashion, music and art under Marquee New York’s roof on September 9th. Powered by French Tuesdays and sponsored by Canard Duchene and Java Monster, the evening includes a dynamic line up of fashion designers, vendors and music! The night will also include a special display of live and digital art.

Tripp Derrick Barnes is the collaborative partner of Pop Neoism along with co-founder Steven Swancoat. The pop art collective based in New York who have been seen on Good Morning America, in Guest of a Guest and with celebs like Andy Cohen. Barnes, a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design has made it a point to help children less fortunate through his art and with the help of his team has already raised thousands of dollars.

Harlem artist Royce Bannon is best known for his iconic monsters that he has created as a part of the street art collective, Endless Love Crew. From silk screening to painting and spraying stencils, Bannon is an artists of many talents.

We are honored to have Joshua Kogan displaying a special digital photography presentation at our New York Fashion Week event. Using a combination of his fashion, lifestyle and behind the scenes imagery, Kogan will transport viewers through some of his most intimate fashion experiences from the last 22 years.

NY Fashion Week - Designers

September 9th ushers in the premiere of Project Ethos New York Fashion Week at Marquee New York powered by French Tuesdays and sponsored by Canard Duchene and Java Monster. The night includes an array of fashion, music and art talent from across the United States with fashion shows at 8:30pm and 9:30pm. Here’s your chance to get the inside scoop on our designers!

New York natives SACHIKA Presented by Avita Premium Artesian Water return to New York Fashion Week with their newest collection “Enchanted” utilizing jewel tones and glimmering fabrics. Known for their feminine and figure flattering silhouettes, their designs will surely be show-stopping!

Fellow New York native Ashley Michaelsen (The Ashley Michaelsen Collection) brings her “Toxic Romance” collection of black and white cocktail dresses and gowns inspired by classic romance stories.

Project Runway alums Richard Hallmarq and Jesus Estrada (Jesus & Antonio Estrada) will also be featured. Hallmarq, known for his vibrant eyewear will debut a new collection of chic ready-to-wear. The Estrada brothers team up on a new brand which will debut on the Project Ethos runway.

Hermosa Beach based Wood Underwear, known for their vibrant choices of colors and patterns for men’s underwear joins the line up along with Pakistan-born designer Aleena Khan who will show a collection of rich fabrics and hand-beading.

Finally, Liberty Garden whose slogan “buy one piece, change one life” reigns true in their partnership to support Doctor’s Without Borders with every purchase made. Their newest collection is a variety of casual-cool separates with laser cut leather details.
